About Scriabin Club
About the Scriabin Club
The Scriabin Club was founded in November 2020 in the Netherlands by pianist and music educator Martin Kaptein. From the beginning, the Club was meant as a global initiative, a space for musicians, researchers, listeners, artists, and thinkers all over the world.

The Scriabin Club is the successor of the former European Scriabin Society (Stichting Europees Skrjabin Genootschap) founded by Rolf Knap in 1985 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
In the beginning Scriabin Club consisted of a core group of students in the Netherlands in Germany, but now has grown to include participants all over the world.
Our Vision
We believe that every human being is fundamentally creative, and creativity can become a positive force in the world. In the Scriabin Club, we view Alexander Scriabin not only as a historical figure, but as a living source of inspiration.
While we do research into Scriabin the goal is not to simply repeat his thinking, but rather to be inspired by his way of thinking and to apply it in today’s world.
Our Tasks
Our main task is to promote and encourage creativity. Currently, we are doing that in the following ways:
-
Music: We promote Scriabin’s music through concerts, recordings, performances, and creative projects.
-
Research: We publish and support research into Scriabin’s music, philosophy, and wider artistic world.
-
Education: We encourage musical education as a way to unlock each person’s creative potential.
-
Community: We build a global movement of Scriabin enthusiasts to develop, share and implement new ideas.
